Ravikanth (played by Jagapathi Babu) is a rich businessman who wants his son, Harsha (played by Mahesh Babu) to become like him and look after his business. But Harsha is a kind of person, who wants to prove his capabilities on his won and in the process earn his own respect. Harsha meets Charuseela (played by Shruti Haasan) one fine day and joins the rural development course which she is pursuing.
Predictably, the duo falls in love with each other. In the meantime, Charuseela finds out that Harsha also hails from her village. Charuseela also finds out that Harsha's father Ravikanth left his village which brought him up and left to abroad so she denies to marry him. Harsha then decides to adopt his own village.
How Harsha manages to develop the village amidst of goons and why Ravikanth left the village in the first place. You have to watch it on screen.
If not for Mahesh, this movie would not have got this much attention as he is apt as the billionaire and he carries off this role vey smartly. Coming to climax and emotional scenes, he proved why he is regarded very high as an actor. His dialogue delivery and mannerisms are a treat to watch. He is very massy in this film.
Shruthi Haasan obviously looks good and bonus is that she acted very well in this film.
Jagapathi Babu was very natural.
Actors like Rahul ravindran, Rajendra Prasad, Poorna etc have done justice to their parts.
Action sequences are the highlight of the film.
Powerful dialogues and when they are mouthed by Mahesh, it is very difficult to sit without clapping.
While college scenes and romance are given preference in the first half, second half is filled with emotional and action scenes.
story is a bit predictable but it is executed well.
Second half gets a bit slow.
Koratala Siva has once again proved that he can carry out emotional scenes very well, be it romance or sentiment. He has full command over his actors and script in this movie.
Cinematography by Madhie is excellent. Village scenes and songs have been shot superbly.
Devi Sri Prasad's music is soul of the film. While his background music is strictly okay, songs are excellent.
Picturisation of songs is as beautiful as audio.
Editing is neat and production values are top notch. Dialogues are clap worthy.
APNC VERDICT: Overall a paisa vasool movie that marks Mahesh's comeback to mass and class genres.
