NTR Kathanayakudu Movie review – Balakrishna, Vidya Balan, Kalyan Ram

NTR Kathanayakudu can be simply called as a NOSTALGIA for the previous generations who started learning about cinema just because of a guy named Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao. The film describes the struggle and agony Ramarao faced arising out of a lower middle class origin to THE FACE OF TELUGU CINEMA.

More than a retelling, Director Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi dealt this film merely into a character study on the kind of person Ramarao was. On the flip side one would be surely reminding Naga Ashwin who did the BEST research for the film Mahanati of his while it lacks with Krish for this Biopic. Run time was too much which might be a backlash too.

There are a too much of montage sequences, including Ramarao’s rise to fame post Mayabazar and his hardcore decisions in his life as a Cinema lover and actor. Fall in the latter part of his career, which give a glimpse of what he meant to the people around him. While the comparison would surely fall out between Mahanati and NTR Kathanayakudu ( the recent bigger Telugu biopics ) audience will surely vote for Mahanati just because of the way Keerthi Suresh portrayed the character of Savithri in her best forms, where in Nandamuri Balakrishna was unable to show case at-least 20% of the Legendary Telugu hero N.T.Ramarao.

This might be a irk for audience to procure their concentration on the screen and go along with the momentum. Director Krish saved the film with some wonderful episodes and the decent writing of his. Sai Madhav burra deserves a special applause not only for writing but also for his crucial character this time.

A decent watch for this weekend and you will surely make your parents or grand parents happy while making them watch their matinee idol’s life history on screen for 3 hours. Go with your family !!
