Mehbooba Telugu Movie Review: Routine-Illogical Drama

REASONS FOR PROPAGANDA:
To put a full stop to his consecutive failures, ace director Puri Jagannadh has come up with a new age flick starring his son Akash Puri in the lead. The film Mehbooba has hit the screens today. Let us see whether the veteran film maker hits the bull’s eye this time.

CAST AND CREW OF THE MOVIE:
Story, Direction: Puri Jagannadh
Lead: Akash Puri, Neha Shetty
Music: Sandeep Chowta
DOP: Vishnu Sarma

NARRATION:
Roshan (Akash Puri) and Afreen (Neha Shetty) are stuck in their dreams about on their past lives. Afreen, a Pakistani girl comes to Hyderabad for further studies. Roshan, a fearless young guy, one day, happens to save Afreen from local goons who try to kidnap her.

Afreen decides to leave when shes gets a call from home. Roshan along with his friends plan to tour Himalayas and the lead pair happens to travel on the same train on their journey. What happens later and how they both get to know their past lives and whether they succeed in their love form the remaining part.

SAFE SIGNS:
Akash Puri seems too young as expected, to play the role of a protagonist but has tried his best to compensate with his acting skills. He shined in few scenes and has done justice to the given role.

Neha Shetty fits in her character but the debutante could not hold the attention any longer.

Shayaji Shinde, Vishu and others were okay in their roles.

Technical Aspects:

Cinematography is the only thing that is topnotch in the movie. Music sounds good in places. Songs test the patience except for the title track. Production values are good. Puri has failed to come up with a logical script making the audiences test their own knowledge as the narration continues. Few scenes and dialogues would lead to doubts on Puri’s directorial and writing skills. Even direction falls flat and offers nothing new to the cinegoers.

Production Values

HAZARD SIGNS:
Story
Songs
Direction
Many Illogical scenes

APNC VERDICT:
Puri must take a break to put an end to these bad script writing and should focus more on the story. Mehbooba lacks logic and tests our patience with flat scenes throughout the film. Give it a shot only if you are an ardent fan of Puri.

Final Word: Mehbooba- A routine, illogical drama.

Rating: 2/5
