Kaala does not have a deep plotline as the superstar himself stated during his recent media interactions. Here is how it goes!
Kaala (Rajinikanth) popularly known as the ‘King of Dharavi’ stands against all those who try to overtake the land of slum. Besides the land mafia, Harinath Desai (Nana Patekar) a renowned politician who lives in Mumbai, plots at his best to grab the land which eventually puts him into a face off with Kaala. How the king of Dharavi faces all the evil power and finds peace is what the remaining plot is about.
Rajinikanth’s performance in Kaala is what fans have been expecting from him for years. He steals the show with his mass appeal and dialogue delivery. One cannot resist from speaking about how he excels in the confrontational scenes with Nana Patekar. Few dialogues in Hindi are an absolute treat for everyone mass movie lover.
Nana Patekar delivers an exceptional performance as a politician and appears no lesser than the lead when it comes to the on-screen power. Eswari Rao who played Rajini’s wife must be given special credits for showcasing beautiful chemistry between the lead.
As one can expect from any superstar’s film, visuals are topnotch and captivating. Especially the way D.O.P showed Rajini is pure eye feast. Songs are okay and the background deserves huge appreciation, especially during the mass elevating sequences. Production values are at their best.
Pa Ranjith must have taken notes of his drawbacks from Kabali as he portrays the superstar in all the right ways. Those who trolled him for not using the star image of Rajini in Kabali will now heap praises on the film maker for his amazing portrayal.
